We had a failover to our backup sup engine, and it appears its config wasn't updated, one of the updates was the enable password. Now we can't get to the priv prompt on the backup sup engine to return the primary sup to active. Does anyone know of a way to restore the primary without having the enable prompt and using a redundancy cmd, or by cutting power?
thanks,
Bill

Bill,
You can use the reset button on the supervisor. If you are using SSO redundancy this should not impact your users while you fail your supervisor back over to the primary.

Pull out the backup sup engine, reset the chassis again and let the sup card with the password you know boot up to be the primary. After that has finished push in the backup sup engine and go into the redundancy config and enable config auto-sync. I have experienced this before and that is how I fixed it.

awesome, but would it be the reset on the sup that is currently serving as the primary, or the sup that is down and we want to make the primary?

It would be the primary supervisor to make it the standby. You are correct.
