i am trying to configure a multicast network. Is there any program i can use to test out multicast. This is for my CCIE training. Preferrablly a windows program. Something with a server and client.

This is an easy one. Windows Media Server running some sort of video stream and use Windows Media Player for the client. Whats fun is if you use a camcorder or webcam and stream live material... it gives you a better appreciation for multicast.

I do not have a windows media server at my disposal. Anything that is a free or cheap download?

Hi MIke,
I take it you are looking for something more than the igmp join-group command??

right what i am looking for is something to simulate multicast. IE some cliet server program. where i can start a multicast stream and then receive it elsewhere throughout my test multicast network. Wether it be steaming video or auido it doesnt much matter. Just so i can gain some exp with multicast configs.

I will try your tools tomorrow. They look like they may work. Thank you.
