On what occassions /32 mask is used and what's the related RFC?

A 32 bit mask represents only one IP address
in a network statement. In ACL's it is also referred to as a host. I'm not sure of a specific RFC for 32 bit subnet masks.

A /32 mask is used to assign IP address to device like router id or loopback address.
