Limitations of 4507 as a 'server' switch?

Folks, in your experience have you seen 4507 lack of necessary throughput (backplane speed) to handle servers? My servers are nothing "special", just application, web, file servers, etc connected to a 4507 switch. Some folks are asking me to buy a 6500 instead since the latter has a faster backplane.

Marlon,

I have seen 4507's and 6500's used in server farms big and small. It really depends on your on your requirements, and future expansion whether a 6500 will actually be a necessity. To buy a 6500 simply because it has a faster backplane is probably not a good idea.
