MWI doesn't light for GDM

I was under the impression that if you add the extension for the GDM to a button on a phone the MWI of the phone will light when the GDM has a voicemail. This is not working in my case. The button has the GDM extension and the envelope shows next to the button. The user can also access the GDM but no MWI on the phone. Any ideas?

Hi Diego,

If this is CCM try this Message Lamp Setting in CCM for the xxxx (GDM line) Line appearances;

For the Line Setting on xxxx (each phone)-

Line Settings for this Device - Changes affect only this device

Message Waiting Lamp Policy - Light and Prompt

The RED Message Lamp will then work for this GDM line on each phone. Otherwise you will just get the "Flashing Envelope" Icon for new messages.

When the message is checked from any of the shared line phones the MWI Lamp will be extinguished on all others.

Seems to complex to implement just for the light. The user will have to settle for the mailbox.
