Hi, I purchased 4 WIC-1AM cards for my cisco 1760 gateway to use with cisco call manager server. I'm trying to figure out if I can even use these cards for voice cards to make calls inbound and outbound. I'm seing that the cards that CM gives me are all VIC cards listed and i don't see any WIC cards listed in the endpoint list on the CM for the gatway. So can I even use these cards for what I'm trying to do??? Please help???
Thanks

Hi, you cannot use these card for voice. These are Analog Modem cards and serve no other purpose than that.
Please rate post if it helps!

Hi,
With a vonage sip account (or any other ITSP - Internet Telephony Service Provider) you connect via broadband doing some configuration on the router. You don't need any DSP module to do that.
With the analog line, you need a minimum of PVDM256K-4 else the fxo card alone won't work.
Sorry, but making right purchases for cisco gear require detailed knowledge.

Alright thanks alot p.bevilacqua :)
One more thing, im ordering new cards now, but I'm not sure which to get. Should I get the VIC-2FXO or VIC-2FXS? I'm just want it to work with my vontage line and my cisco 7970 phone we have? I know one recieves power and one sends power but I'm not sure which one I need in my case. Any thoughts???
Thanks

Hi, if you upgrade to a "vonage sip account aka corporate", you can do without any card at all. It is not available through normal channels so you've to search a bit.
If going with the analog line, the card is vic-2fxo, but you also need DSP resource, that's another HW module, do "show diag" to see if you have anything already.
Thanks for the appreciation and good luck!

If i got the vontage sip account how would i hook it up to my CM Sever?
I'm using a 1760 gatway, what is a DSP resource?
When i do show diag I get this from my router:
show diag

Thanks a bunch p.bevilacqua, you've been a great resource in my VOIP quest :) I'm just going to buy the VIC-2FXO and give it shot. I'm sure we will be in touch soon. Once again thanks a bunch. I owe you one.
