I have an isr2821 with EVM (8fxs and 6fxo) and vwic2-2mft-e1.

In my original design I though use MGCP protocol for the e1 and fxo's (with cucm6)

The customer told me the telco only offers e1 cas-r2 for the PSTN. Now I have several questions for you:

1st. e1-cas r2 force to use h.323 protocol.

2nd The recommendations for fxo is use mgcp.

3rd The recommendations for fxs is use sccp.

4th I don't want complicate the config with dial peers.

Its possible to use simultaneously the three protocols in the same 2821 router?.

You should not have a problem doing this - we have seen many customers run all three applications on the same device in the past.

Thanks Paul. I still have a doubt.

How add the same physical gateway with different protocols if the name must be unique?.

Thanks

When you add gateway using MGCP, it uses hostname, when using H323 it uses IP addresses.

It is basically like TCP port numbers,

HI, just to add one more thing...With sccp, callmanager uses its mac address..

so with MGCP, it uses Hostname,

With H.323 it uses IP address

and with sccp, it uses the gateway's mac addy.

I love cisco! Now tell me which other vendor can give you a multiprotocol solution withing same device!!!! Cisco here we goooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
