simple copy run tftp: (problem on vrf)

Level 1

objective;

copy active devices config thru TFTP from a remote PC

scenario;

pc----6500lanA--sdh ring 1.....6500lanG

6500lanJ----sdh ring 2---6500lanZ

- lanA 192.168.1.x on vrf

- lanZ 10.10.10.x not on vrf

- there are core switches on each of the major locations of th sdh rings

findings

- we can ping/telnet from the pc to the 6500lanZ loopback (normal ping)

- we cannot ping the pc from the 6500lanZ (normal ping)

- we can ping the pc from the 6500lanZ (vrf ping). ex. ping vrf vrfname 192.168.1.x

- invoking copy run tftp: and just putting the ip of the pc will result in a timeout because the 6500 cant reach the pc

question;

- how copy run tftp will work in this case (if ping vrf is working, then there must be something to make tftp as well)

thanks

Hi,

Try the "ip tftp source-interface" global configuration command and set the loopback interface as source.
