Has anyone ever noticed the configs files in memory being renamed?
I have a 3560-24 PoE and noticed all the files have had their extension changed
vlan.dat.renamed
private-config.text.renamed
config.text.renamed
It appears a short on one of the switchport pairs may have caused this. When it happens the switch works fine, but all the config is lost (actually renamed) and only a reboot and doing the config again works.
The IOS is 12.2(40)SE - C3560-ADVIPSERVICESK
I have yet to try and simulate this, but wanted to know if anyone else has experienced anything like this and why the switch adds this "renamed" extension.
Thanks

Thanks. I just tested it and it seems to be the reason.
