Urgent LAB CCNP/CCVP BID HELP

Hello All,

I stumbled on this offer on the web and I have been considering building my own lab for a while.


What is your take on this feature? The seller says its ideally for a CCVP which i hope to eventually pursue but am currentlly still studying to complete my CCNP. Do you think this is good for CCNP as well?


The price take is a little over $1,000 roughlly $1200 including shipping and 1 year warrantee.

you will need a router with fast ethernet port for router on stick config for routing between vlans unless you use layer 3 switches, 2610 does not have one, it has only 10baseT port, i would suggest buying individual router and switches rather than buying a set. (setting up home lab piece by piece is more exciting - imho) here is a link for 2600 series router interface info:

I wouldn't. 2924 switches are obsolete. Look for a 2950 instead. 1924 is even more obsolete, and they're not even running the IOS.

Will you say your critic of the devices stop at the switches? What about the routers? Leaving out the intended CCVP eventual pursue. Do you think they are ok for CCNP practice with the IOS they are running?

rajibchicago, I mearnt to say thank you for the information. I requested the seller replace the 1924 to a 3524 POE switch. With the IOS on the 3640 I think I can make do (hopefully) I think it has at least 1 Fastethernet port. I actually have the ISCW and ONT left to take.
