HSRP timers

I am trying to confugure the following HSRP paramaters,

interface Vlan4

ip address

standby 1 ip

standby 1 timers msec 250 msec 750

standby 1 priority 150

standby 1 preempt

standby 1 preempt delay minimum 180

I read in a few posts that the mentioned timers can cause issues, has anyone tried this?

Hi,

As per my knowledge, the following is sufficient to run a normal HSRP,

ip address

standby timers 3 9

standby 1 ip

standby 1 priority xxx

standby 1 preempt delay minimum yyy

Hi Goutam,

I am interested in knowing the yyy value. As per the best practice the minimum delay should ideally be 50% more that the device bootup time.
