Bruno,

There is no PDM for the 5.x code of sofware as far as I amware. So you need to upgrade if you want the GUI function and all the other nice features an upgrade gives you...if you do plan to upgrade there is some ESSENTIAL reading - go to here for all you need to know:-

Wow, that is some fairly old code. Once you get the unit upgraded to something in the 6.3 train, you are getting better off.

I would not use PDM for anything, ever. PDM does not cover much of the command set and can get your configuration fairly messed up.

I have upgraded PIX 525s 6.3(4) and 6.3.(5) straight to 8.0(3) with very few issues. In one case I had to recreate a single remote user VPN.

Now ASDM, rocks. Use it.

Mike

Thank You for your both replys.

Just a question, is it possible to put the ASDM in a PIX ?

I thought that ASDM was only for ASA ...

Best Resgards,

Petrónio

Yes - ver 7.x and above of PIX IOS supports the ASDM

You definately can. It will not work with 501s, 506s and 515 without the memory upgrade. However I have used ASDM on 525s and 535s.
