WLC is not showing the AP.

WLC 4402 is configured in L3 lwapp mode. Management interface is in vlan 20 and ap-manager interface is in vlan 100. AP is in vlan 50. AP is getting dhcp ip. option 43 and 60 were configured.

the debug shows

debug lwapp events enable on WLC

(Cisco Controller) >Fri Jul 25 20:51:57 2008: 00:19:55:5f:cb:52 Received LWAPP DISCOVERY REQUEST from AP 00:19:55:5f:cb:52 to 00:1f:9e:9b:8c:03 on port '1'

Fri Jul 25 20:51:57 2008: Discarding L3 Mode LWAPP DISCOVERY REQUEST on intf '1', vlan = '100', Management vlan = '20'.

on the AP the debug

debug lwapp client events

1 00:58:16.716: LWAPP_CLIENT_EVENT: spamHandleDiscoveryTimer: Could not discover any MWAR

1 00:58:16.716: LWAPP_CLIENT_EVENT: spamResolveStaticGateway - gateway found

debug ip udp

1 00:58:16.716: UDP: sent src=172.16.50.151(64693), dst=172.16.100.100(12223), length=69

Try putting the AP manager interface back into the same vlan as the management interface. Also look at the date and time on the controller to insure that the certificates are being validated properly on the APs.

Thanks.

I put both in same vlan and changed all the clocks (switch, ap) to current time and got registered.

However the ap goes to restarting again & again saying "lwapp client request to restart".

Do you know how to run the LWAPP debugs in the cli on the controllers? You need to run all LWAPP debugs and reboot the APs. Watch the behaviour as they drop. This should tell you what is wrong.
