SPAN Causing servers to to drop - Cat 6509 IOS

I have a non routed vlan when I attempt to monitor either of two interfaces on that vlan the servers lose their minds. It doesn't matter if I monitor the vlan or a single interface.

The commands I'm using are:

monitor session 2 source int g1/27 both

monitor session 2 destination int g1/1

As soon as these commands are entered I lose connectivity to the sever on g1/27. Any ideas??

How many traffic have gi1/27 ?

the gi1/1 link is up ? what encapsulation have?

It turns out that the sup 720 was bad.Besides this strange behavior with monitor it also was not building the etherchannels for the FWSM. Swapped the sup out and no more problems.
