Forwarding calls from old extns to new extens after migration

Hi,

I have an extn say 1001, which now is to be changed to 2001(migration)--same physical phone(same MAC), how can I make sure that the calls to phone with DN 1001 are getting forwarded to a new phone DN 2001 after migration.

Somebody told me to delete the phone entry for 1001, which will not delete the line entry from the route plan report, then in the routeplan report find 1001 and then put forward to 2001.

Is this correct way or there is any better way of doing this?

Hello Rajesh,

Have you checked the Translation Patterns? same deal here, you can have a translation pattern translating from 1XXX into 2XXXX which will do it automatically for you and you can delete the 1001 entry after doing that.

Adding the links for reference ;)
