NTP synch using XNTP

Hi,

The following link states that XNTP enables NTP client only and it cannot serve as Server, so you cannot synch TO it.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a008009470f.shtml

I am running XNTP on all Call Manager servers and all subscribers are pointing AND successfuly synching with the publisher using XNTP.

I had also tested it by pointing Cisco router to the publisher as NTP server and it all works.

So, is this document inaccurate?

Thanks,

David

Not applicable

This document is correct. Cisco IP Telephony servers can synchronize their clocks with either an external network time server using X Network Time Protocol (XNTP) or between Cisco CallManagers using various Windows utilities. It is not possible to configure the Cisco CallManager Server as a NTP Server as a Cisco CallManager Server can only act as a client.
