Hello,
I have a new Catalyst poe switch, and I used the express setup feature.
However, I noticed it didn't give me an option to enter a telnet user name.
Is there a way I can setup a user name?

If you are talking about a Catalyst Express 500, there is no telnet access to those devices. GUI is the only option.
Q. Are there plans to add a CLI or Telnet to Cisco Catalyst Express 500 Series Switches?
A. No, there are no plans to add a CLI or Telnet to these switches.

Carl,
There is no CLI with the switch he referred to in the OP.
