Ok, right now my company's multicast network is a mess and is in severe need of a redesign/management. I'm wondering what the best way to setup this network would be with the equipment that I have or buying the minimum amount of extra equipment. Currently there are 6 departments that will each need multiple connections to this multicast network. This network will only be used for multicast traffic and all other TCP traffic will be on a completely seperate network.
The equipment I currently have is:
Qty 2 3560G 24port switch
Qty 1 3560G 48port switch
Qty 6 2960G 24port switch
Sorry for such a broad question but i'm not sure how to setup RPs or if I should have multiple 3560's doing the multicast routing or only have one doing all of the routing etc. Please help with any suggestions or design ideas.
Keep in mind that a multicast could be generated or received at any point in the system.
