Cat6509 with redundant SUPs 720 FX Uplinks

I have Cat6509 with two Sup 720s. This is the show mod snippet.

Supervisor Engine 720 (Active) WS-SUP720-3BXL

Supervisor Engine 720 (Hot) WS-SUP720-3BXL

My goal is to have 1st Fx link going to to Sup1 port1 and 2nd Fx link to Sup2 port1 and connect this via OSPF to my Core 6509s. What I am not clear on is how can I do this when the 2nd SUP is in STANDBY HOT mode? How do the interfaces on the 2nd SUP act when in STANDBY? I wanted to protect against SUP failure and FX cut. Thanks for any assistance in advance.

Hi,

Even thought the sup is in standby mode, the uplink ports are active and available for use.

This has been the case for most versions of the sup.

Thanks, I wanted to hear that before I go try it out. Are both interfaces active one and two?
