Call Manager 4.2 & Unity 4.0 training

Answered Question
Aug 6th, 2008

My manager wants me to get Call Manager and Unity training. I can do adds and updates to phones and voice mail. We had an engineer do initial setup but boss would like me to have more in depth knowledge. Any suggestions on good training classes and/or books?

I have this problem too.

Hey Mary,

Long time, hope all is well :)

I have found these books to be very useful;

Cisco CallManager Fundamentals, 2nd Edition

http://www.ciscopress.com/bookstore/product.asp?isbn=1587051923

Configuring CallManager and Unity: A Step-by-Step Guide

http://www.ciscopress.com/bookstore/product.asp?isbn=1587051966

Troubleshooting Cisco IP Telephony

As for Training, Global Knowledge is always highly thought of in my peer group :)

Hi Mary,

You are always welcome :) Thanks for your very kind words! WOW!

These studies are an ongoing journey for sure, but this is what makes it fun and interesting. I'm sorry that I missed these guides that also have some really great info for anyone getting started in IP Telephony;

Cisco Unified Communications SRND Based on Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.x

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/6x/callpros.html#wp1043559

Cisco Unified Communications SRND Based on Cisco Unified CallManager 4.x

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/4x/42clproc.html

Hope this helps! And thanks again!
