Hi there ladies and gents,
I have seen a few posts on this but I can't nail it. I am getting the error:
"There is not enough disk space in the common partition to perform the upgrade. Please use either the Platform Command Line Interface or the Real-Time Monitoring Tool (RTMT) to free space on the common partition".
I have been through RTMT and deleted all files for a long way back so it is clean.
I have 39% utilisation on my common partition. How my free space do I need? I have even tried tracking down files manually and deleting more, then rebooting a number of times.
Anyone with ideas?
Cheers
John

You need to do the upgrade with SFTP or FTP. If FTP does not work, use FTP. I had alot of problems getting it work and it turned out to be an upload problem, either where it was pulling from or what protocol it was using
Dont waste your time cleaning files out, or rebooting, etc. does not help!

We had some issues while performing the upgrade to cm 6.1.2.1000-13 by using FTP, this is a known defect, the workaround is to use sFTP. below are the bug details:
- Bug ID: CSCsi91410
- Symptom: An upgrade fails indicating there is not enough disk space to complete the upgrade even though there is enough disk space.
- Conditions: An upgrade is done using remote method via FTP.
- Workaround: Use a different upgrade method (such as SFTP or LOCAL) or use different FTP
server software.
You can check the bug details at the following link:
http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/
In addition, you can use freeFTPd as the sFTP, server app, you can downloaded it from here:
Hope this helps!

Hi John,
Are you by chance using FTP to do the upgrade?
Thanks,
Michael.
