Hey,
Simple question for a new networker..
When I perform the following command it takes forever to execute.
"show running-config"
What could be the possible reasons, I mean it has enough memory and the ios is the same on both machines.. and they are the same model..
Let me know..

Check the size of your running-config file.. if this large the router maybe delay to show..
#dir nvram:
Directory of nvram:/
110 -rw- 14695
111 ---- 27
1 ---- 12
2 -rw- 0
129016 bytes total (112194 bytes free)
#
check the cpu utilization
router# sh processes cpu history

Hi Mavrick,
when giving "show run" command it is opening very slow? Can you tell me what is the exact problem & which model?

It is a Cisco AS5850..
It is running slowly, I mean..
"building configuration" and stands still for about 30 seconds..
The thing is that I have deployed many of these and when integrating these new ones, I am experiencing these problems..
model the same,
ram the same,
The only difference is in the bootstrap.. they differ in that respect..
ect..
don't know why..
any idea's???

I think Raul has the right answer. The same thing happens on our ISR routers. Whenever it does happen and I look at the CPU history, the CPU was at 100%. I've had times where I'd issue a command and it took more 1-3 minutes to output it.
I also noticed that certain services on the router use lots of CPU. When I turned nbar off, my CPU averages dropped by 20%. With that off, the CPU still spikes, but not as often and with less dramatic effect.
