Choosing a 3750 switch

Greetings,

Im confused by the many different model numbers available for the 3750 series switches. The datasheet seems to explain most of the differences, but what about the 'G'?

What is the difference between the 2 following models:

1.) WS-C3750-48PS-E and

2.) WS-C3750G-48PS-E

TIA

The first one provides 10/100 switchports along with Gig uplink ports.

The second one provides 10/100/1000 all around.

HTH,

Edison.

All the copper RJ45 ports on the 'G' version are 10/100/1000, where as the non-G version they are 10/100.

The difference is 3750G is having Gigabit (G) Ethernet ports.

3750G-48PS - >> 48 Ethernet 10/100/1000 Mbps ports with PoE and 4 SFP ports

3750-48PS - >> 48 Ethernet 10/100 ports Mbps with PoE and 4 SFP ports

As the other posters have noted, the primary difference is whether the copper ports are dual speed, 10/100, or tripple speed, 10/100/1000. The "G" represents the gig capable copper ports.

Both switches also support the same StackWise technology, and the same 32 Gbps fabric. Where they also differ is in their pps rating, the former is rated at 13.1 Mpps and the latter at 38.7 Mpps. The pps and fabric bandwidth for the non "G" model supports wire speed for all 48 copper and the 4 gig uplink ports. The "G" model's pps and fabric bandwidth don't support wire speed for its 48 copper and 4 gig uplinks ports, although its performance is good enough except for the most demanding usage.

PS:

Oh, and the "G" model costs more too.
