Greetings, we have a client that hosts a number of SQL servers and payment processing servers which service a multitude of client requests. These are in turn connected to a 3750 switch stack.
They wish to prioritise traffic to these servers across there local network, i feel i can manage the QoS configuration but would it be better to identify priority traffic by IP address of the host servers or by using the associated port numbers in use by said applications?
Regards

according to cisco SRNDs and
Catalyst 2970/3560/3750: Conditionally Trusted IP Phone + PC: Advanced Model configuration
it is more accurat to make the matching based on the port used by the application
for example
ip access-list extended DVLAN-MISSION-CRITICAL-DATA
permit tcp any any range 3200 3203 ! SAP
permit tcp any any eq 3600 ! SAP
because u gonna match the exact traffic
hop this helpful
