Hi,

I am having CCM 6.0 and few Cisco IP telephone 7960G,and the E1 PRI is getting terminated at the Gateway router.

1. Gateway router lan IP is the gateway for the CCM 6.0

2. The ISP IP is the gateway for my gateway router.

3.CCM IP is the TFTP IP and Call manger IP for IP Phone.

4. IP Phones are getting registered and able to make a call within the LAN.

5.From the gateway router I have tested the E1 PRI link by dialing from the router to some mobile, and I am able to dial from the gateway router.

Now the problem is from the IP Phone I am not able to call the outside number through the E1 PRI link.

What could be the probable cause for the problem? How could I proceed to troubleshoot the problem.

Please any help me,It is very urgent ,the customer shouting very much.I have to get it resolved within 24 hours.

Thanks and Regards,

S.Venkataraman

Did you configure CallManager properly?

Can the CSS applied to the phones access parition of the PSTN route pattern? Did you build proper route patterns/route lists/route groups? Did you define the GW in CM?

What protocol are you using for the GW H323 or MGCP?

What message are you getting when you dial the number?

Enabled "debug isdn q931" on the GW and observe if the call is getting there, and if it does what error are you seeing?

Hi chris,

Thank for the immediate reply.

Tomorrow I will check once again the setup what all you said and keep you inform tomorrow.

Thanks and Regards,

S.Venkataraman.

(Just to save some time) Also capture a debug isdn q931 from the gateway that has the PRI... I'm sure we've all seen someone setup a CCM and forget to strip the 9 off an outgoing number or something like that :)

Hi ,

We could see the dialed number but it is not reaching the service provider's switch.

Mean time we are able to receive the incoming calls without any issue.

When we dial out a number ,we are getting the dialtone, numbers are getting dialed, the call is alos landing at the Gateway Router, but after which the call is not lading at the service provider's switch.

Please help me what could be the issue.

Thanks and Regards,

Lavanholy.

MGCP or H323 Router?

If it's MGCP you need to make sure your route patterns are correct and forwarding the correct digits.

When you say you see it "hitting the gateway" what are you looking at?

On the gateway I'd do a debug isdn q931 and see what digits it's sending to the PSTN, Somehow I suspect it's transmitting digits it shouldn't be...

If it's an MGCP gateway make sure your ISDN Protocol stuff is setup correctly on the end points (Correct switchtype etc)

Hi ,

It is MGCP.One thing I am able to receive the call from outside PSTN line to my Cisco IP Phone.

When I see "debug isdn q931" in that I could see the called party number .

I hav econfigured as E1 PRI ISDN switch type as Primary NET5.

Please help me.

Thanks and Regards,

Lavanholy.

In a Gateway Router we have the following configuration for the Pots

dial-peer voice 1 pots

destination-pattern 9T

incoming called-number

direct-inward-dial

port 0/2/0:15

You mean to say that 9 from the above pot configuration to be deleted, only with T we will have to check,Is in it?

O.k I will check and come back to you.

Thanks and Regards,

S.Venkataraman.
