Solved: Export config as text file - CiscoWorks RME

Hi All,

Does anyone know how to export a config stored in RME as a plain text file? I can export as XML but id like to have plain text copies.

My aim is to export all the configs from RME to text file and store them securely offsite. Having them as text files will just make it much easier in a DR situation.

Any ideas?

Its easy, enable the shadow config directory in RME, they are all plain text there.

RME-Archive Mgmt-> Archive settings -> check box for Enable Shadow Directory.

That was just what i needed to know.

Initially only a handfull of configs were written to the file system. A little more investigation revealed that once enabled it will only write CHANGED configs to the shadow folder.

Following a suggestion in another post i modified the motd banner slightly using a net config job. This triggered all the configs to be written to the filesystem.
