Can analog phone circuits (T1s) be carried over fiber?

I know our T1 cards in our voice router are copper RJ-45. So I assume that is typically how voice circuits are delivered from the PSTN. However, from our demarc point to our data center, we don't have a lot of copper run. We do however have a lot of fiber.

Could the T1s be converted to fiber to make the run to our data center, then back to copper RJ45 to go into our voice router?

Yes, A media converter would do the trick.

I do however have a personal bias against Media Converters and would recommend that you use a copper cable run if possible.
