hi guyz

need a little help

here is the scenario "i want to check the hardware/inventory installed in a router i cant physically see"

Problem"when i run command(sh inventory or sh controller or sh diag) they give me result showing that 2 VWIC G.703 Card installed.

when i run command(sh hardware) it shows me 6 serial ;4 E1 Slots and some gigi ports(which are builtin)

when i run command(sh ip int bri) it shows me some gigi and 3 serial ports to be UP

when i run command (sh run) it only shows 3 serial and some gigi ports

Question

how can i confirm that i have serial available and if available why only sh hardware command shows that.

i hope you have understood the question

This forum is about the Cisco 'MARS' product :)

However this can happen due to numerous reasons, Chinese counterfeit hardware, Incomptaible software version that does not support the hardware, hardware failure.

Mostly its the first two reasons. Which cards are these exactly, and which one is not showing exactly?

Which router model?

You can see the VWIC cards with the show diag output, can you post the output here?

Both of your WIC cards are shown in the command, however

There is a small catch... To have your cards be visible in your running config, or sh int brie, you need to define the card type with some sort of config like this

"card type e1 4 0" (E1 or T1, based on the make, and your locality)

Usually, without this command, you can't even define the controllers.

Again, please start another thread (in case this doesn't solve your problem) in other forum, may be "Routing/Switching" as this forum is specifically for MARS discussion only.
