hello
I am facing an issue where in the active voice calls are getting dropped and CTIOS logs out when the ASA firewall fails over to the secondary. The ASA is running a IOS version of 7.2(4). Has someone faced such an issue and if there is any known bug.

when a call in progress it will use RTP over udp
udp is a stateless protocol so when the firewall fail to the second one the connection need to be reestablished
and it is real time the fail over take seconds to be done
if helpful rate

I understand RTP being a UDP protocol, it will not keep the state up. But this never happened when the firewall was running with 7.2(2). The calls were still active and CTIOS was not disconnected. The IOS has been upgraded owing to some other issue. Could this be an IOS issue

Hello the porblem was with the connection state. The idle tcp connection was actually keeping the state up on the table and the skinny connections were not taking the existing connections while failover happens. Moreover the inpsect skinny was also causing the problem.
