i have a 100Mb ethernet WAN connection between two sites. I'd like to calculate the throughput. I was trasferring some a 50Mb file over the link and only getting 70,000 bytes per second.

well 70,000 bytes per sec would
68KBps
something seems wrong

Yes, we are currently transferring a 900M file and it is estimating 4 hours to finish.

No duplex errors along the path?
What's the end-to-end latency?

I think that could be the problem but I am not sure. The other end where the server is connected, the interface to auto/auto because that is how the vendor wants it. So it is actually showing at 100 half with tons of collisions.

the problem is definetely with the server interface on the switch. I just tried using a different server that is configured for hard coded 1G/full and the performance is much better.
