On what protocol can fractional PRI be configured, H.323 or MGCP? Think it's H.323 but not sure.

I have used fractional PRi on MGCP. People say its not supported, but I think it is. Because I have used it before. To be safe stay with H.323

Hi Ashok,
Note: Cisco CallManager does not support the configuration or use of a fractional PRI when you use it with MGCP. If fractional PRI is necessary you can use H.323 instead of MGCP.

Need one more favour. Could you please give me the sample configs for each protocol?

Deji you simply rock! Just one more favour here - I see there are 2 options of configuring MGCP - Automatic, where the config gets downloaded from CCM & manual. Is there any particular reason for using any particular method?
Regards,
Ashok.

Using the CCM-Config command makes configuration easier..Some pople like it, some dont. I dont like it because sometimes it can give you problems.
Baiscally, the ccm-config methos configures the oruter automatically, and the manual one is manual

Fractional E1 may not be supported with MGCP but its certainly configurable. Register your Voice Gateway with callmanager using the ccm-manager config command, but then remove this command and reconfigure the E1 as fractional. Works for me everytime.

Hi Rob,
Just curious here - is something similar ( Fractional PRI) possible with SIP gateways?
Regards,
Ashok.
