Hi All,
I'm looking for a Cisco based solution for connecting remote credit card terminals to a clearing server.
The current solution is composed of a server connected via multiport serial to many analog modems and remote terminals dialing in over a n x analog lines:
Terminal with analog line --> PSTN -->>> n x analog lines --> n x RS232 modem --> multiport cable --> clearing server.
Now my plan is to replace the group of individual analog modems and lines with a single Cisco box (2800 series) installed with a PRI and Modem PVDM and connect it to the server with an octopus serial cable:
Terminal with analog line --> PSTN --> PRI --> 2800 with PVDM2-24DM and high density serial card --> multiport cable --> clearing server.
Is it possible to map dialin calls to serial ports in a round robin fashion so as each all from terminal is coming in it is switched to free serial port on the server?
Another option would be to have the router to accept the dialin calls and initiate a new TCP connection to the server for each call and transport the data from the modem over the TCP connection - does anyone have experience with such configuration?
Thanks,
Yossi
