Check the callmanager group under Device pool configurations. You should have subscriber as first preference and publisher as second preference.

i creat a CM Group, but in a Available Cisco Unified Communications Managers, i don't find the second CM (the Suscriber), i can find only the Publisher, but i'm sur that i added the CM Suscriber (the server and the CM). i think that i must find it in the available CM to make it to the same group with the Publisher.

Go to both Server and CallManager on the System tab of the CCMAdmin webpage, make sure to have both servers if not, added it and then go back to the CCMGroup

you need to start the CCM services before trying this, they're not started by default.

If they're not running the server will not show up in the CCM group.

check you have enough ccm node licenses before that, if not then you won't be able to start the services

hi, thank u for this help, i tried to activate the service but i have this message "All the allocated licenses to this node are consumed", i don't know if i need any licenses in the suscriber, i have all the licenses on the Publisher. Thanks

hi, it looks like you may just have one server licensed to run the CallManager service. If you go to System>Licensing>License Unit Report it should tell you on there how many Server Units are actually licensed.

licenses are managed by the license node, usually the PUB and they replicate to other servers. YOU DO NEED A NODE LICENSE PER SERVER WHERE CCM WILL RUN. you can have only TFTP, maybe only IPVMS on the server, but if you plan to activate CCM you need a node license, that's why i told you to check you had enough licenses before trying to activate it

Thanks a lot,my problem is the license, i can't activate the CCM service. i will check with my manager.

Check the box the subscriber server came in. If its a MCS server purchased for CM6, then the server license is probably on a piece of paper that came with the server. Just register the PAK and apply the new license file to the publisher.

just remember that you need to issue ALL licenses using the MAC address from the license node (probably your PUB).

do not ask a license for a node using the MAC from the SUB as it won't work, same for DLUs and anything else

I am having a similar issue, except I have licenses added with the PUB MAC address, I have the UC SUB with CallManager services STARTED, but it STILL does NOT show up under the Unified CM Group?

Here is a snippet of the current License files:

As you can see, each is tied to the UC PUB MAC address, but, what is strange is that I cross-referenced it to a similar license from a previous install and this is what THAT license shows:

Notice the "Vendor String Count shows as "2" when my other license files above only show a "1" each.........

Is this license file possibly invalid or was generate wrong?

please help?

Thanks,

Hi Robert,

You are most correct! You only have a license for one "node". Send an email to;

licensing@cisco.com

With all your pertinant Corporate info to start the proper licensing process. They should be able to email you the proper license in short order.

Here is an Example of Permanent CCM_Node licenses

# Optional usage agreement, legal language, tracking information

# Some other comments

INCREMENT CCM_NODE cisco 5.0 permanent uncounted \

VENDOR_STRING=3000BCD4EE59D1.0

The preceding license file includes the following information:

•No expiration date for this license exists as indicated by the keyword permanent.

•This license file provides three licenses for the version 5.0 of the feature CCM_NODES.

•The Cisco specific fieldLicFileID, identifies this license file.

•You can add multiple increment lines for same feature in a license file to increase the license count. None of the INCREMENT lines should be identical and each of them should be signed independently.
