Guys

have a little question pertaining to this. currently this is a lab setup with the following

CCM 6.0, 2821 rtr (simulating remote site) with an AIM-CUE 25 user CCM License and version 3.1

Everything is working perfectly however i have one issue that im checking and not sure if it is by design

when i go to voiceview service i can see all functions however, i cannot listen or record any messages. it gives me the following

"authentication error. report this error to your system administrator"

Again not too sure if this is how it works by design and just to recap

CUE/SRST at remote site connecting to CCM 6.0 at simulated central site.

thanks in advance

The phone authentication service on Cisco Unity Express handles VoiceView Express authentication requests from the IP phones during the playback and recording of voice messages and greetings. This service is available only when Cisco Unity Express is working with Cisco Unified CME.

Troubleshoot Voice View Express:

Configuring VoiceView Express:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity_exp/rel2_3/cliadmin/ch_vview.html

i know, read the manual :) i read it i saw it but i still thought id post to ask :)

thanks much

I am not sure if you found the answer but I did have the same problem.

Here is the solution:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity_exp/rel2_3/cliadmin/ch_vview.html#wp1070944

"The Cisco Unified CallManager administrator must ensure that all phones configured to use VoiceView Express are owned by the JTAPI user configured on Cisco Unity Express. VoiceView Express uses the JTAPI username and password to become a trusted phone client."

Scott

thanks fo the info.

much appreciated
