Router Troubleshooting

I have a Cisco 871 Ethernect access Router. While configuring the Router, it became inoperative. I would like to know if there is a procedure to reset the Router to its default configuration? If so where could I get the procedure?

This is the procedure when you have access to it:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps5187/products_tech_note09186a00802017a1.shtml

If you don't have access to it, get into rommon by pressing "Break" on your keyboard during initial boot up and using:

rommon 1>confreg 0x2142

rommon 2>reset

and then use the steps of first link to reset it and changing it back to 0x2102

Quick question, if you do the rommon again, do you have access to it? If yes, do that and use the following info to gain access back to the router:

Router is trying to download the config from an external source....

The information provided by garytay was very helpful. I got some indications that router was back to the Factory Default but I could never confirm this because I was never able to get back into the User EXEC or Privileged EXEC modes to issue a show command. My original problem that I am trying to troubleshoot is - When you power up the Router and it runs the startup procedure the ethernet port leds are ON. about 1 minute after startup the ports go down and I cannot get into SDM or the IOS. I have attached a printout which shows this. I am now effectively unable to communicate with the router at all.
