I am having a problem getting the trunking worked out on a pair of 4402's I just shipped out preconfigured.
The switches are running Catos.
I have tried both using a LAG and individual ports on the WLC, and the only way I can access the WLC is when the port on the switch is configured as an access port.
Whenever I change it to trunking mode on, I lose access.
I have tried rebooting it and that hasn't worked either.
The manager and ap-manager subnet is in vlan 254, and I have set the native vlan of the ports on the switch to vlan 254.
I've tried all forms of the trunking (desirable, nonegotiate etc) but I just will not work.
I am using this exact set up elsewhere with no problems.
Controller was originally on 4.2.130 and is now on 5.1.150.
Anybody have an idea or two?
Okay. First make sure on the wlc that the management and so manager is on the same vlan. Also make sure that it is untagged in the wlc which means it is set to "0". On the dot1q trunk, set the native vlan to what the wlc is configured for. Make sure you also don't have the global command "vlan dot1q tag native". Also male sure the service port has an ip address and not routable in your network.
