Hi All.

I was just curious really, going through the written exam blueprint for routing and switching, why is DMVPN listed under a Frame Relay header? Am I missing something?

A. Frame Relay

1. Local Management Interface (LMI)

2. Traffic Shaping

3. HUB and Spoke routers

4. Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN)

5. DE

I take it by DMVPN we are talking about the IPSec feature, as described below?

I've read through the 3rd edition CCIE Certification Guide and there is nothing on DMVPN in it.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks - Simon

I never noticed that. They are talking about what you have linked. I suspect it just fits best in the blueprint. In a lab this would most likely be how you would test this using a full mesh frame cloud. In the real world you mostly see it on MPLS networks or internet vpn.

You never want to depend on just books to pass even the written test. You need to study the blue print and all the links they have.

How detailed knowledge they want is harder to say since this is more of a security topic that a R&S topic.

I would recommend a good basic understanding.
