the problem is this:
If the client has a power level lower than the AP, the client would "hear" the AP signal but the AP would not get the client authentication because he cannot hear him.
On the other hand, if the client has a power level higher than the AP, imagine this:
You set all APs to 20mW and the client works with 50mW. He would interfere with other APs on the same channel, although the APs themselves do not hear eachother.
I hope i wrote that understandable ...
Anyway, this technique works only with ccx-compatible clients, but that compatibility is kind of usual today, i think.
