802.1Q Connectivity Between Cisco Cat2960 & Alcatel 7250 SAS

Hi,

We have been trying unsuccessfully to get a MetroE link to a remote site via the service provider to work. This link had been working when the connection between our Cat2960 switches and the telco's Alcatel 7250 at both ends was through access mode. But since the connection at one end was changed to 802.1Q trunk the link failed to work.

We have tried replacing the Cat2960 with a 3845 router and the link came up immediately.

Anyone has any idea why there is a difference in the result between the Cat2960 and 3845?

The 802.1Q trunk between Cisco Cat2960 & Alcatel 7250 SAS is not supportable.
