Hi

I am not sure what could happen if delay command is used in LAN interface. I have to clean up config and found that command on LAN interface. Please advise.

int fa0/0

ip add 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0

delay 200

standby 10.11.1.250

standby priority 110

Thanks

Sai

As far as I know the main thing that would be affected by changing the configuration of delay on the LAN interface would be the calculation of the metric for EIGRP.

Changing the delay certainly has no impact of the physical operation of the interface. And I am not aware of anything that uses the delay parameter other than the metric for EIGRP. Are you running EIGRP? If so "correcting" the delay might impact selection of routes by the routing protocol. Otherwise I am not aware of any impact from changing the delay on the interface.
