Syslog of nat translations

My syslogging is only recording messages when - say - I make a chang to the router. But so far I have had no luck in logging that NAT translations that get created.

ip nat log translations syslog

logging facility local6

logging source-interface GigabitEthernet0/1

logging 10.10.10.224

All I see in syslog:

Aug 28 16:51:33 cisco-gw 389: Aug 29 00:47:31.883: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by admin on vty2 (192.168.55.122)

...that kind of message.

According to Cisco I should be able to just add those four commands. But so far no joy. Did Cisco omit something? Have I missed something? Thanks

I found the issue. This Cisco Press document is incorrect in its example. In the example they show "logging trap informational". In fact it appears that "logging trap debug" is required.

Enabling Syslog: Example

The following example shows enabling NAT entries into syslog.

Router(config)# logging on

Router(config)# logging 1.1.1.1

Router(config)# logging trap informational

Router(Config)# ip nat log translations syslog
