Hi all, when policing traffic for certain bandwidths, I belive the system will drop the traffic that reaches over the threshold. my question is, do you set what source addresses etc for this or does it apply to all traffic, and if the traffic is dropped, would the client try to retransmit if using tcp ?

Yes , you need to classify the traffic before dropping.
For classification you use class-maps with IP Precedence
Based on classification & marking you can drop the packets.
yes client will try to retransmit it.

do you have to classify it? cant you get the port to just drop anything over say 2 megabits
