I am trying to verify the image (before I power cycle the switch) that I just uploaded.
*dir flash:*
[output]
Directory of flash:/
3 -rwx 2072 Mar 2 1993 17:09:45 +00:00 multiple-fs
358 drwx 192 Mar 3 1993 12:30:11 +00:00 c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-44.SE2
5 -rwx 1934 Mar 2 1993 17:09:45 +00:00 private-config.text
6 -rwx 1829 Mar 2 1993 17:09:45 +00:00 config.text
32514048 bytes total (21577728 bytes free)
[/output]
*verify flash:*
[output]
Verify filename []? c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-44.SE2/c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-44.SE2.bin
%Error verifying flash:c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-44.SE2/c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-44.SE2.bin (No such file or directory)
[/output]
Why is this the case the file is there, if I do *dir flash:c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-44.SE2/*
It shows the image exactly as entered above.
Note I can:
*verify /md5 image:...*
and it reveals the hash
Any ideas why I am unable to verify the image?
Thanks

Hello Epoh,
what if you copy the file on the root / and then use verify on it ?
or try:
verify flash:/c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-44.SE2/c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-44.SE2.bin
Hope to help

I copied the file to root and tried:
*verify flash:*
Verify filename []? c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-44.SE2.bin
%Error verifying flash:c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-44.SE2.bin (No such file or directory)
-------------
It did not work either.
Thanks,

Hello Epoh,
actually not all flash filesystems support the verify command. Some filesystems support the check of the MD5 hash and this could be happening in your case.
This could be an explanation.
see this link to IOS filesystems
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps341/products_tech_note09186a00800a7515.shtml#classb
actually I don't find verify in command reference
Hope to help
Giuseppe
