Hello Guys,

I have configued two T1 dsu/csu card on two Ciso 3640.Back-to-back for my lab. I used RJ45 crossover cable between them. Both cards are in alarm(AL) what protocol or permeter that I am missing to make both routers talk to each other? See beloow and advised.

Router1

serial 2/0

ip address 10.10.11.2 255.255.255.0

service-module t1 clock source line

service-module t1 framing esf

service-module t1 lbo none

service-module t1 linecode b8zs

no service-module t1 remote-alarm-enable

no service-module t1 fdl

encapsulation frame-relay

frame-relay lmi-type cisco

Router2

serial 2/0

ip address 10.10.11.1 255.255.255.0

service-module t1 clock source internal

service-module t1 data-coding normal

service-module t1 timeslots all speed 64

Eric,

I don't think you can use a regular crossover cable for back to back T-1's. You will want to buy or make a custom T-1 crossover cable for your lab.

A t1 crossover is pinned this way:

1 -> 4

2 -> 5

4 -> 1

5 -> 2

HTH,

Mark

Thanks Mark! I'll check with my local stores or make custom T-1 by following your example.

Thx,

Eric

Thanks Mark, I made custom crossover cable and got Both DSU/CSU CD led light are green but no link between both routers. Any idea >>add or remove?

I have pin out cable correctly CD led light is up and change the serial int to encap PPP but still no link between them. This is driving me crazy as I could not resolute this issue. Any idea??

I got it resolved after try and errors procedures on both routers. Make clocking source line on both end do not make other end internal that was my problem. If you fellow below config yours will work fine. Thank you all for your help and advised.
