I have some switchs Cisco and I would like to find an IP address on the LAN.

I want trace and IP address or a MAC address

I would like to find the out-port of the switch where the computer is connected.

I know I can use the command sh mac addr dyn | inc <mac address> and after fnd the next switch with the cdp but it's long.

Can I find an automatic solution?

Or an other solution ?

Thank you for your help.

There are quite a few switch port mapping programs out there. Some even have free versions, like this one from ManageEngine: http://manageengine.adventnet.com/products/oputils/switch-port-mapper.html

I use the Solarwinds Engineer's toolset, which has a nice switchport mapper, but the set will cost you some $$.

You can try searching the opensource community -- they might have a free mapper out there.
