Installing a new PRI at new location. Can I take a 2611 non voice sw, with a plain wic (not vwic), and use it to verify whether all 24 channels are up or not?

The â€œshow ISDN statusâ€ command ensures that the router is properly communicating with the ISDN switch. In the output, verify that Layer 1 Status is ACTIVE, and that the Layer 2 Status state = MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED appears. This command also displays the number of active calls.

thanks for the response. the question is where I could take a straight data WIC card on a router with non voice ios, and use that just to verify the PRI comes up

Hello,

You would need at least a network module that would recognize ISDN PRI, like an NM-2CT1-CSU=, or NM-2CE1T1-PRI.
