Dear All,

Which one of the following is suitable AND BEST command for HSRP MD5 Authentication.

standby 1 authentication md5 key-chain

OR

standby 1 authentication md5 key-string

In my opinion, one key-string is sufficient and simple.

Haven't used key-chains so far.However, if you think that you'd want to tighten up the security by allowing use of different key-strings at different times then key-chain is the choice.
