6500/SUP720 SPAN Destination Port - SPAN traffic only

I have a 6509e w/ Sup720 and Visual ASE 10/100/1000 (1 port) I want to SPAN traffic to. I am running IOS 12.2(18)SXD7 and wanted to know if later releases allow for traffic to/from the ASE in addition to the SPAN traffic so we can manage the device connected to the SPAN destination port.

The packets will be dropped when the traffic that is sent into a port that is configured as a SPAN destination port.
