Hello Abhishek,

I see

one power supply is off.

What is important is that the linecards look like the wrong type:

WS-X4548-GB-RJ45V this support PoE you have WS-X4548-GB-RJ45 and the missing V is for PoE

you can see in the link of first Massimiliano's post: all linecards supporting PoE have a final V in the part number.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hi,

What modules do you have installed in Catalyst 4500?

Massimiliano.

Here it is :

2 Sup Eng. and three 48 port blades

Switch#sh module

Chassis Type : WS-C4507R

Power consumed by backplane : 40 Watts

Mod Ports Card Type Model Serial No.

---+-----+--------------------------------------+------------------+-----------

1 2 1000BaseX (GBIC) Supervisor(active) WS-X4013+ JAE1015ZRA6

2 2 1000BaseX (GBIC) Supervisor(standby) WS-X4013+ JAE1015ZW7

Hello Abhishek,

it is important to provide the following info:

a) what model are the 48 port blades linecards sh module provides this info

b) what power supplies are installed in the chassis try to see if sh power or sh env power or sh env all provides this

because not all 48 FE or GE linecards are PoE capable and also the power supplies must be strong enough for the extra power.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
