Keepalive Messages lost between master and controller

Good Morning,

We are having issues with the WiSM modules dropping their service connections. We have two WiSM modules in two separate 6509 switches. WCS will first report:

Keepalive messages are lost between Master and Controller

I then login to the 6509 and do show wism status and get this for each controller:

Service Port Down

If I login to the WiSM via the console port on the WiSM, I can not ping the service vlan on the 6500, to resolve this issue I have to restart the WiSM. This happens pretty often, about once every 2-3 weeks.

This is a rare issue, I would pen a TAC case if I were you. The reason for the message is when the controller loses connection with the Supervisor Switch (in which it is physically embedded) and the controller cannot hear the heartbeat (keepalives) from the Supervisor. It is a rated as a severity: major
